Class Descriptions

 

Barre, Ball & Mat

Barre, Ball & Mat is an innovative body-conditioning and strengthening class that uses ballet-technique specific exercises. This class focuses on core strength, weight placement and alignment of the body with a gradual approach of carefully designed exercises and repetitions of these exercises that trigger their muscle memory. This class is suitable for all levels, no dance experience needed.

 

Beginners Strength & Sculpt

Beginners Strength & Sculpt class is for all ages and fitness levels to embark on a strength training journey. This class is tailored to introduce fundamental exercises that build muscle and shape your body. Through a comprehensive full-body workout, you'll learn proper form, engage major muscle groups, and incorporate stretching for enhanced flexibility. Whether new to strength training or aiming to refine your technique, this class offers the environment to help you reach your fitness goals.

 

Gentle Vinyasa

Gentle Vinyasa is calming and rejuvenating and tailored to nurture both the beginner and seasoned yogi. Postures are woven together with flowing transitions, breath-linked movements and gentle holds that allow your body and mind to find stillness and harmony to promote flexibility, strength, and inner peace.

 

Gentle Yoga

This restful, calming class includes breathing through gentle flowing movements and passive and supported poses. This is class is perfect for those beginning or returning to yoga as well as those working with injury, limited mobility, or who prefer a softer, gentler approach to yoga. Appropriate for all levels.

 
 

NIA

NIA stands for "neuromuscular integrative action"  as well as "non-impact aerobics". It blends elements of yoga, martial arts and tai chi and dance set to music. The class aims to engage the mind and emotions through exercise.  This class is low impact and suitable for all levels of fitness.

 

Strength, Stretch & Stability Yoga

Strength, Stretch, & Stability Yoga class uniquely integrates a chair as a prop and hand weights to augment your yoga practice. The chair offers support for postures, enhancing balance and stability, while hand weights add a layer of resistance, promoting strength. With the inclusion of stretching sequences, this class provides a balanced workout for increased strength, improved flexibility, and reinforced stability in a mindful setting.

 

Vinyasa For Beginners

This is the ideal place to start if you are new to yoga but is also a great class for students of all ability levels who would like to deepen their understanding of yoga’s foundational poses. In a welcoming and encouraging environment, students will explore the fundamental poses found in most Vinyasa classes, while learning to connect movement to breath. Students will learn principals of alignment, skillful modifications and improve strength, flexibility and balance.

 

Yin & Yang Yoga

Yin & Yang Yoga is a unique class that synergistically blends Hatha and Yin Yoga for a full body workout that promotes strength, flexibility, and inner peace. Yin Yoga’s longer-held, propped poses target connective tissues and encourage mindfulness and mental balance while Hatha Yoga's dynamic postures lead to physical strength and enhanced circulation, embodying the active, energetic Yang principle. This class offers an experience of contrast and complementarity. Suitable for all levels.
